Third Eye Blind
Screamer
While most 90’s Alt-Rock hit makers are waiting to cash in on the next nostalgic co-headlining summer tour of America’s sheds Stephan Jenkins and his band are still hard at work making a run at the record charts. I appreciate that so much too. 3EB have always been a favorite of mine since their culmination and its nice to continuously get new music from them.
Screamer is the best album they have released since their sophomore masterpiece Blue. I don’t know what it is about Stephan Jenkins’ vocals that are so enjoyable to me. Really he is not some amazing vocalist and his lyrical content is a little sloppy. His hooks really draw you in though.
The best part is how these songs will translate to live stage. I expect to see many of them for years to come as part of their sets. If you have never been to a Third Eye Blind live show you are missing out. I was lucky enough to seem them twice this year and I always leave feeling like that is what A live concert should be. Hits, deep cuts, new songs and a great sense of community among the fans.
