A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships

When the lead single from the album starts with “We’re fucking in a car/shooting heroine/saying controversial things/just for the hell of it.” You know it’s time to pull up the lyrics and read along so you don’t miss any of Matt Healy’s brilliance. This is true for every single song on this album too. For me there is so much to take in and so much I can relate to.

 

This was one of my most anticipated albums of the year. They teased us all last year that something was coming and I could not wait. Their previous album topped my list in 2016 and is still one of my all-time favorites. Everything they do impresses me, they are the finest Brit-Pop band around. The songwriting is pure genius.

 

Truthfully, I wasn’t expecting this album to be this good. When the previous album topped my list 2 years ago I said it was the best album ever made. I didn’t think they could ever come close to repeating what I consider a true masterpiece. How wrong I was, this album is in every way just as good or better.
