My Favorite Albums of 2016

I believe this year will be my last for My Favorite Albums. It has started to become more of a chore and less of the enjoyment that I used to get out of it. I originally started doing this to help promote lesser known albums that I believed deserved some extra recognition. It used to be that I would take a couple days at the end of the year and go back over the albums that stood out the most to me.

These days I spend an enormous amount of time cataloging all of the new albums I listen to every week. I also spend a great amount of time researching albums to anticipate and checking out what other people are listening to. It’s just not as fun anymore. This year proved to be the toughest of them all. There were a few times when I said “forget it” but there were some really good albums this year that I feel need to be heard by more people.

So unless something drastic changes next year this will be my final list.
