#1 – My Favorite Albums of 2012

Foxy Shazam – The Church of Rock and Roll

Producer – Justin Hawkins
If there were ever a church of rock and roll this album would be it’s hymn notes. Take some Led Zepplin, Queen, Rolling Stones, Elton John and Meatloaf put them in a blender and you get a Foxy Shazam. I discovered this album as a suggestion while listening to the Sixth Sense radio show. I tried to criticize my choice for putting this album at #1 but every time I listen to the album it just gets better.
The driving guitar riffs sound like instant classics while the bombastic rhythms make you want to throw your fist in the air. The screaming and muted horns and the pounding piano add a great layer of complexity and fullness to the sound. What really sets this album apart from the rest is the unequivocal vocal prowess fronted by Eric Sean Nally and backed up by huge gospel like harmonies.
The album clocks in at a short 36:27 and when its over you will be left wanting more. I cannot wait to here more from this band in the future.
