One of the major factors when rating my favorite albums is the quality of the engineering and production quality. Koi No Yokan wins the award this year. Stephen Carpenter’s signature curtain of layered guitars come through with unbelievable definition. Abe Cunningham’s drums are so finely tuned and captured with so much clarity and tonal quality. Chino Moreno’s enormously dynamic vocal’s are captured perfectly conveying so much emotion and aggression.

The three song suite of Entombed, Graphic Nature and Tempest are some of the best music Deftones have ever recorded.
