#14 – My Favorite Albums of 2012

Aerosmith – Music From Another Dimension!

Producer – Jack Douglas, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Marti Frederiksen
Reading the professional reviews of this album are about as frustrating as hearing somebody knock Jar Jar Binks while wearing a C3P0 costume. The reviews complain about Aerosmith being Aerosmith, they talk about synth horns and silly song titles. Really? Have they never heard the songs Dude Looks Like a Lady or Love in a Elevator? These are some of the elements that have made the Boston Bad Boys so famous.
The first time I heard the single Legendary Child I thought I was listening to Get a Grip (my favorite Aerosmith album) and that continues throughout the album. Overwhelmingly present as well are the sounds and vibes of the classic albums Pump and Toys in the Attic. Joe Perry and Brad Whitford have created and albums worth of instantly recognizable guitar riffs. Steven Tyler’s voice shows now sign’s of slowing down, and the rhythm section of Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer are thundering and grooving at its best.
Favorite Tracks – Legendary Child, What Could Have Been Love, Lover Alot
